Allison Cook Pitt
Club founder, Allison Cook Pitt started physie at age 6. Allison was a member of the Ashcroft Club, which became Hinchinbrook, for 22 years. She left Sydney with husband Matt and moved to Coffs Harbour in 2001. Allison started her teaching career in 2007 and has had major success with many National representatives, finalists and placegetters, including her own daughter Chelsea, who at age six was awarded 1st place.
Allison's Coffs Coast Club has grown from strength to strength in a very short time. Through hard work and dedication she is achieving her dream of giving as many young girls the opportunity to build confidence, make life long friendships whilst developing better posture, improve flexibility and have fun on a weekly basis.
Marianne has been a “physie girl” for 58 years and commenced her teaching career in 1974. When Marianne and her husband Garry moved to the Central Coast, she started teaching at the Woy Woy Club. This Club grew to the staggering size of 200+ and achieved great success.
Marianne was mentored by some of the top Sydney instructors. She credits this time with giving her a very sound knowledge of good basics and strong technique. Another move found Marianne teaching the Grafton Club with 130+ students.
Marianne regularly took her senior teams to Sydney which placed highly each trip. She had her share of girls competing at Junior Nationals and Senior Opera House but it is at a Club level that Marianne continues to fulfil her dreams. Having young people loving what they are doing is achievement enough. A highlight of her long career was being awarded her 30+year teaching “gold” medal at a ceremony in 2006.
Marianne’s role within the club is as a mentor, Associate for all classes and general “go to” person for anything that needs attention, something she cherishes along with her lifelong love of physie.
Elise Cross - assistant and demonstrator
Elise started her physie career here on the Coast as a 10 year old. It was evident early on that Elise was destined for success. This came last year when at the age of fifteen she reached the ultimate goal of representing her Club on the Opera House floor at Senior National Championships. Her performance was amazing.
This year Elise assists Allison and Marianne by demonstrating the junior syllabus and takes stretching classes as well. She is a role model for all our members and is greatly appreciated within our Club.
